Whangarei Girls' High School International provides all international students with a top quality, yet unique Northland experience.

We have an excellent, well-established international programme and enjoy helping our students to improve their English, achieve their academic goals and experience our beautiful country. At the same time, we enjoy learning about the countries and cultures of our international students. We are proud of our 130 year history as a highly successful school, providing:

International Team

We have a dedicated team who care for our international students, with everything from choosing school classes and planning social trips, to accommodation and day-to-day support. Students are well supported within the school and at home, with 24/7 care available as needed.

Accommodation

A safe living environment is arranged for all international students, either boarding at Lupton House or with a homestay family. Lupton House provides safe and secure boarding within the school, just a short walk to town.

Homestay families are carefully chosen to ensure all students are placed in a safe, friendly home.

Our Curriculum

We offer an exciting and extensive curriculum, including traditional subjects such as English, Maths and Science as well as languages, arts, graphics and design, music, technology, textile fashion, dance and outdoor education. We also offer ESOL, including IELTS, and match courses to suit individual abilities.

Experience New Zealand

Our safe, friendly school environment is a great place for students to experience a wide range of sports, including hockey, horse riding, football, cheerleading, golf, netball, volleyball, and share their talents in drama, dance, singing, and music. We also exciting opportunities to experience New Zealand's beautiful outdoors.
